The Importance of Intent in Reiki
Taggart King
<Open>
A wise friend of mine once said to me that “where thought goes, energy flows” and I think that this principle applies very well to Reiki.
Some of us have been taught in quite a rigid way, learning that we must always follow a particular prescription to achieve a desired effect, whether this be a set form of words, a collection of symbols, or a complicated ritual.
That’s fine: we can choose to do that if we like, but I believe that underlying our form of words, our rituals and our symbols is an important and powerful driving force: our intention.
I believe that we can move beyond the details, the constructed systems, to access that simple, profound and powerful controlling force. Whatever we do, when we do Reiki, we control the energy using our intention.

It is now claimed by some people that Usui Sensei taught level II (Okuden) Reiki students the practice of kotodama [- a discipline originating within the Shinto religion] - which involves [amongst other practices] the intoning of sacred sounds -both sylables and individual vowel-sounds.

The Usui Treatment Guide or Usui Ryoho Shishin is part of a brief document: The Usui Reiki Hikkei, which was compiled in the 1970's by Kimiko Koyama, sixth kaicho (president / chairman) of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai.

The Treatment Guide was purportedly written by Usui-Sensei himself.

It was not till the mid/late 1990's that Reiki practitioners in the West began hearing about what in time would come to be known collectively as the 'Japanese Reiki Techniques' - a number of practices (some, self-development related, others, treatment-related) being used by modern-day Reiki practitioners in Japan, and claimed to have been part of Usui Reiki Ryoho since the early days.

Crystals and Reiki

Most of the Reiki practitioners and Masters I know are strongly attracted to crystals. Many found their first experience of energy and vibrations through living with crystals, and discovered Reiki as they continued their exploration of energy work.........

If you are like me, deeper understanding comes from learning everything both spiritually and physically, and how it fits into everyday life, as we can understand it in a tangible and
logical way.

Reiki and the Healing Drum

An article by Michael Baird
Drumming, sound, music, harmony, experiencing feelings, stepping into the flow. . . this describes my life today, yet it didn’t before I regained the awareness of  the healing sounds and rhythms of drumming.
